4 tips on how to deal with the heart & brain battle

June 1, 2018
When it comes to your dreams, your passions, follow your heart. When it comes to matters in dealing with friends, family, lovers, this is where the heart and brain begin to battle. My advice to you, from past experiences, listen to the brain.

I pride myself on my cold and calculating personality when it comes to making decisions. People who know me very well changed my middle name from Ann to Asshole. I’m okay with that. Once in a while, my heart will melt. I am human. When it does melt I’m kicking myself in the ass every time! It only happens once or twice a year, thank the Heavens for that!
The heart feels. The brain foresees. The brain knows the negative impact you will endure after the action you were contemplating is completed.
You will thank your brain in the long run, instead of second-guessing your action and feeling like a fool for following your heart.
When you’re contemplating an action which is based on feelings, never;
  1. Make that decision when you’re feeling vulnerable,
  2. When your mood maybe a little out of balance.
  3. Be patient and wait it out.
  4. During the wait, meditate and visualize the outcome you have chosen or what you want to happen
That wait and visualization will be the best thing for you.
I recently experienced the heart and brain battle. I felt that my seize the moment may have past.  This was a heart moment. I thought I may never have the chance to say how I felt and what my intentions were. An affair of the heart.
I was able to think through the outcome of my intended actions. I decided that my actions would’ve had a negative outcome.
There will always be that what if question. That reoccurring thought of the unknown. These will pass.
You’ll thank me in the end.
Never cut a tree down in the wintertime. Never make a negative decision in the low time. Never make your most important decisions when you are in your worst moods. Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. The spring will come. ~~ Robert H. Schuller

Clean your kidneys

May 6, 2018
Let’s start the “Health & Fitness” section with cleaning your kidneys… People ask me all the time how do you look so young.  Well, I’m going to share my secrets. Even when I was going through my mid-life crisis, I still held everything intact, skin, style, and health. Everything else fell apart but I kept those intact.

Our kidneys are filtering the blood by removing salt, poison and any unwanted toxins entering our body. With time, the salt accumulates and this needs to undergo cleaning treatments and how are we going to overcome this?
It is very easy, first take a bunch of parsley or Cilantro (Coriander Leaves) and wash it clean, then cut it into small pieces and put it in a pot and pour clean water and boil it for ten minutes and let it cool down and then filter it and pour in a clean bottle and keep it in the refrigerator to cool.
Drink one glass daily and you will notice all salt and other accumulated poison coming out of your kidney by urination also you will be able to notice the difference which you never felt before.
Parsley (Cilantro) is known as best cleaning treatment for kidneys and it is natural!

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen, I have a challenge for you starting April 1st.
Some of us have gone through or are currently going through certain situations that have ripped us of our self-confidence and motivation.
So how do we pull ourselves out of this rut? Where do we even begin?
I’ve been there. I’m going to give you my 30 suggestions to help you with this journey.
On March 31st we’ll do a reflect, redirect and reconnect wrap up.
Each day I will give you something to think about or work on.
So grab your journal and get ready to build up your confidence.
I created a Jetset journal a long time ago and I still use it today. You can call yours whatever you want but just make sure to pick one up.
A new day will be added to this post. Check back each day and click on the link.
[separator type=”thick”]
It’s a new month for new goals and new styles. It’s also the start of the Motivation Challenge. I hope you got your journal or you can keep your thoughts on your phone.

Some of us have been through so much it has taken a toll on us which has stripped our confidence down to nothing.

You need to style your soul first then work on styling your body.

You can look good on the outside but if the soul isn’t matching the outer, then you’re not going to speak without saying a word.

That’s the key to motivation is having confidence, commanding the room when you walk in without a saying a word. That’s called confidence.

So here’s Day 1 on building up your confidence.

You look good.
You feel good.
You do good.

Let me know if you have problems with the link.

Day 1   – Recognize your blessings
Day 2   – You’re not alone
Day 3   – Discover the path
Day 4   – Continue to take action
Day 5   – Don’t compare yourself to others
Day 6   – You reap what you sow
Day 7   – Be content with your best self
Day 8   – Develop positive habits
Day 9   – Believe in yourself
Day 10 – Get up when you fall
Day 11 – Surround yourself with positivity
Day 12 – Reawaken anew each day
Day 13 – Take care of foreseeable obstacles
Day 14 – Actions speak louder than words
Day 15 – Get selfish, keep the focus on you
Day 16 – Develop an exercise routine
Day 17 – Eating healthy
Day 18 – Reassess your vision every so often
Day 19 – Too much thinking is never a good thing
Day 20 – Focus on your goal, not outdoing others

Well Ladies and Gentlemen, let’s chit-chat about this. What are your thoughts? You can leave your comment in the section below. I’m looking forward to hearing what you think.

Living a natural lifestyle with “Lavender”

February 3, 2018

It’s tough living a life as a creative person. I’m blessed with this stressed. However, I would love my gifts even more if I could sleep properly.

Here are ten ways you can live a natural lifestyle with lavender. I want to point out that number three is my favorite.

Being a creative entrepreneur, it’s really hard to calm your mind when it’s time to sleep. You have meetings in the morning. There’s a last minute workshop you have to teach due to a cancellation. And you’re taking care of an elderly parent. So what’s one to do when you need to get a couple of hours of sleep?

This tip (number three) will help you calm your thoughts that will allow you to drift off into la-la land. I want you to grab a spray bottle, add a couple of drops of lavender oil to distilled water and mist your pillow before sleepy time.

Lavender oil like coconut oil can be listed as a “jack of all trades” oil. Of course, it smells divine but it is also instrumental in remaining ageless and promoting a healthy and natural lifestyle. So instead of just giving you one useful way to use lavender, here are nine more.

  1. Eliminate nausea – Breathe in the lavender oil, straight from the bottle and exhale. Inhale and then exhale about 3 times more if you desire. Then dab the oil on your tummy, temples, and wrists, this too will aid in eliminating nausea.
  2. I say this all time, people will take care of their face and neck but forget their lips. Having dry, chapped, and cracked lips are very unappealing and it shows your age just like your hands. This can affect all ages. To soften those lips up by mixing a tablespoon of lavender oil with a 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, rub on your lips to exfoliate and get rid of the dead skin for a smooth, sexier and healthier look. Rinse with warm, then apply a small amount lavender oil to your lips as a gloss.  You can check out my blog post on healthy and sexy lips.
  3. Do your thoughts race at night? Do you toss and turn trying to doze off into la la land? Are you into natural remedies instead of the over-the-counter sleep aids? Well, lavender oil is your answer. Grab a spray bottle, apply a couple of drop to 8 ounces of distilled water and mist your pillow. This faint scent will settle those thoughts and send you off into a peaceful sleep.
  4. While we’re on the subject of settling those thoughts, sometimes our thoughts overtake us and we find ourselves not being able to concentrate. Lavender oil to the rescue. Again inhale the lavender oil but mix it with a little peppermint or my fav gardenia oil. Stated in #3, the lavender oil will help you calm your mind and will help you focus on a single thought by quieting all the other noise that’s vying for your attention.
  5. Soothe your sunburn by applying a couple of drops of lavender oil to the affected area. The oil will help reduce redness and soothe the pain.
  6. Clean those cuts and sanitize those scars, oils have antibacterial, anti-viral and anti-microbial functions. Soak a cotton ball with lavender oil and apply it on the cut or scar, it will act as a natural disinfectant.
  7. It’s Summertime and our little furry friends are bothered and bitten by pesky bugs. Massage a couple of drops of lavender oil on your pet’s fur to calm their itchy skin and to keep at bay other pesky bugs especially the fleas.
  8. Those pesky bugs don’t discriminate they come after us humans as well. Once bitten, rub a couple of drops of the oil onto the itchy bug bit for a natural soothing relief.
  9. Oily face? Want to clear up that complexion? First, let me say chemically manufactured facial cleansers strip skin from its natural oils. I recommend adding a couple of drops of lavender

oil to a non-clogging moisturizer, click here to purchase my recommendation, Pure JoJoba (A superfine natural moisturizer, Jojoba penetrates easily, nourishing, softening and protecting the skin without clogging the pores) after you wash your face to restore natural moisture. This is especially good during the summer months.

  10. Saving the best for last, reducing wrinkles. The moisturizing agents in lavender oil help keep the skin firm and supple.  Grab that spray bottle of lavender oil and distilled water and mist your face or the desired area.

There you have it, ladies and gentlemen, the top ten uses for lavender oil. Please use at your own discretion and check with your physician to make sure you’re not allergic to this and other oils.

Keep the lips looking sexy & healthy!

Lips of a 51-year-old lady – KAH

Let’s find how to get those sexy, smooth lips. I do not wear make-up which is why I have a love/hate relationship with my profile picture on (Twitter & Facebook). It’s a nice picture but I’m wearing make-up. My nail stylist wanted to experiment with a new product. A friendly argument ensued and I ended up letting her throw some make-up on my face not once, but she got me a couple of times. I don’t want you to think I’m a hypocrite.

I wear lip gloss and eyelashes if I’m going out. A sexy lip and eye will take you far!

THIN LIPS Make thin lips look fuller and accentuate their shape by outlining just outside their natural edge with a lip liner. Brush on a lip color inside the line you have drawn. Avoid using very matte colors as these can make lips look even thinner; slightly glossy colors will make lips look fuller.

Uneven Lips Balance an uneven top lip by outlining just outside the thinner half of the lip and along the natural edge of the fuller half using a lip liner. Check that the line is even, then outline the lower lip. Brush on a lip color inside the line. II lips still look uneven, add more color to the thinner half of the lip.

SHAPELESS LIPS Give lips more definition by outlining the top lip with a lip liner to emphasize the “m” in the middle and so create more of a cupid’s bow. Outline just outside the natural edge of the lower lip to make it look fuller. Brush on a strong lip color to help give the lips, even more, definition.

FULL LIPS Make full lips appear thinner by lightly covering them with a foundation to help blur the edges. Using a lip liner, outline lips just inside their natural edge, then brush on a lip color, being careful not go outside the line. Avoid pearly or glossy colors as these will make the lips look even fuller.

UNEVEN COLOR Balance different-colored lips by covering both with a little foundation. Outline lips with a lip liner, then brush a darker shade of your chosen lip color onto until it looks lighter, on a lighter shade onto the one that looks darker. Purse the lips gently together to even out the color more.

Having smooth, healthy-looking lips is just as important as keeping your face, neck, and hands youthful. Here’s one of my all natural secrets I use to sustain my youthful looking lips. I hate cracked dry looking lips. Since is so easy to keep them looking fresh and smooth.

Not only am I into an all natural look, I prefer when I can use an all natural product. So I’ve created a brown sugar lip scrub.

Brown Sugar Lip Scrub

  1. 2 tsp Brown Sugar (I use the dark brown sugar)
  2. 1/2 tsp of honey or agave nectar (I alternate between the 2 each time I make a new container)
  3. 1 tsp of olive oil
  4. 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
  5. Mixing bowl
  6. small glass container
  1. Grab the mixing bowl and add the honey or agave nectar and olive oil mix together.
  2. Now slowly add the brown sugar. The brown sugar is fantastic. It will gently exfoliate the dead skin and sooth those chapped lips.
  3. And last add the lovely smelling vanilla extract and mix together until all ingredients are combined.
  4. Then spoon into a glass container.
  5. Now I store most of my skin products in a small fridge.

For the fun part…

  • Scrub on lips in a circular motion for about 3 minutes (You can use your finger or a white wash cloth)
  • Then let set for about a minute
  • Wipe off with warm water
  • Then apply a couple of drops of Vitamin  E … Wait a couple of minutes then apply Vaseline
  • In the winter, I do this almost every evening because I live in the North East.  During the summer months, every other night.
