Anybody who knows me, knows I hate taking medicine, so I try to find natural ways to cure or relieve certain pains and discomforts.
I would like to share with you, my home remedies that I use to stay healthy and prevent certain health problems.
PLEASE, speak with your physician before trying any of these just in case you’re allergic to any of the ingredients AND get regular check-ups. I’m not saying I don’t go to the doctors, I’m saying I prefer if I can, to engage in natural remedies instead of medications for certain things.
I have acid reflux. So when the heartburn or the acid feeling starts to do the dance in my stomach instead of grabbing the Pepcid or Mylanta I make a “Ginger Bana” Smoothie.
Ginger has long been touted as a remedy for the “queezies” (queasiness) including heartburn, as well as nausea and motion sickness. Today I’m showing you how I team up ginger and bananas, which acts as a natural antacid. So before you reach for an over-the-counter product for relief, whip up one of these soothing smoothies–it just may do the trick. This recipe serves 2, just in case you’re entertaining, hint hint!
1 banana, sliced
3/4 cup (6 ounces) vanilla yogurt
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
In a blender, combine the banana, yogurt, honey, and ginger. Blend until smooth.
