The Karen Blixen Museum

Karen Blixen was a Danish author. She is best known for the title, Out of Africa which is an account of her life in Kenya. Today, there is also a Karen Blixen museum located at the foot of the Ngong Hills, 10km out of Nairobi in Kenya. In Denmark, the museum lies in Rungsted, at the home where Karen Blixen was born in 1885 and died in 1962.
Karen Blixen also wrote under the pseudonym, Isak Dinesen and under this name she is best known for the title, Seven Gothic Tales. She was well-respected by authors such as Ernest Hemingway and Truman Capote. Apart from being able to learn about Karen Blixen’s life at the museum, you can take walks in the museum’s beautiful gardens. A forest lies nearby and Karen Blixen’s grave lies in that forest. Across from the museum lies Rungsted Marina.
